Supervising Children Online

After reviewing the Cool Cat Teacher Blog for a Graduate School assignment, I found author Vicki Davis' post on 11 Steps to Online Parental Supervision of your Children.
I felt that this blog post corresponded well with Kimmel Farm Elementary's vision of creating a global learning community. I hope you find this post a helpful resource!

  1. There are some kids that think that those steps are overly intrusive (as shown in the comments.) Do you have a link to Kimmel Farm Elementary's vision so I could read it?

  2. Hi Vicki!
I'm honored to have you comment on my blog. (:
Since I am a kindergarten teacher, I thought posting your suggestions on internet safety would be a good read for parents now while their child is learning how to be a responsible digital citizen.
My school, Kimmel Farm Elementary, has a goal in our recent School Improvement Team Plan that includes guidelines for wisely using social media as a teacher. I'll get you the link soon.
Thank you so much for commenting!

  3. Hi Vicki,
I have a Word document that contains Kimmel Farm's sixth goal of our SIT plan, which addresses responsible use of social media. If you email me at jnchilton@gmail.com I can email the document to you.

    Thanks for your interest!
